Before your pregnancy: If you plan to become pregnant, please attend for a health review with the Practice Nurse.

Maternity Care: The antenatal clinic is on Wednesdays from 09.30 am; antenatal checks can be performed at other times by arrangement with your midwife or doctor.

Child Health Reviews

With your doctor at six weeks, a hearing check with the Health Visitor at seven months and a two-and-a-half year check.

Childhood Immunisations

Two months old               

Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)

Pneumococcal disease



Three months old 

Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Hib

Meningococcal group C disease (MenC)



Four months old 

Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Hib

Other Immunisations

Appointments with Nurse.

- Tetanus boosters and travel abroad. Tetanus recommended every 10 years to those at risk (until you have had a total of five tetanus jabs).

- Travel: It is extremely helpful if you obtain a MASTA health brief to bring with you to your first appointment for travel vaccinations.

- MMR: We recommend that anyone 25 years or younger receives two MMR jabs. Flu jabs


Cervical Screening

Smears are performed 3 yearly for women aged 25-49 years and 5 yearly for those aged 50-64 years. Our nurse performs most of the screening.



Contraception/Sexual Health

All aspects are dealt with confidentially. The doctors and nurses are able to help you decide which method will suit you best. Our nurses are qualified to perform pill checks, contraceptive injections, and instruct in the use of barrier methods.

Minor Operations

Dr Stam removes small skin lumps and can perform certain special injections. We do not remove lumps or skin blemishes for purely cosmetic reasons.


Diabetes and Asthma Reviews

With nurse (please book a double appointment for diabetic reviews). Nurse may recommend that you also see your doctor.


Health Checks

A chance to discuss your health needs and have a physical check up. When you first register with the Practice the Doctors find it very helpful to meet you and your family before an illness occurs.
